I began to notice my hair receding in my mid 20s. The recession continued through my 30s and I started to wear my hair combed forward in a "ceasar" style to try to hide the recession. I realized at about 38 that the best thing to do was to cut all my hair very short. I decided at age 44 to explore hair transplant surgery. I shopped around online and found a doctor in Beverly Hills that had offered three things that I THOUGHT were important: 1. Best price for highest number of grafts=Cost effective 2. Yale trained surgeon=Qualified 3. Beverly Hills location=Must have a lot of experience, because based in LA. A year later I had a sparse result and a scar line that could be seen on the back of my head. The experience itself and the care that I received were fine. I paid $6000 and got more hair than I had at the start, but I did not look much different and I did not achieve a frontal hairline. I learned several things: 1. I never saw photos of the doctor's previous work=Big Mistake! 2. A Yale education, doesn't equal a lot of hair or an undetectable scar. 3. Best price doesn't always yield best results. I researched Dr Bolton for about 6 months, as I knew at that point that my first precedure was not going to yield the results that I wanted. I spoke to Josh and saw all of the pics on Dr Bolton's website, and I scheduled my procedure. Please note, that I had Dr Bolton shave the area, because he said it would be easier to work on the area. Also, please note that I do have some swelling in my face and under my eyes in the day 3 pic, which is normal. Mike was very professional and extremely knowledgeable of the entire process, he even emailed me recommendations for hotels as I flew in from out of state for the surgery. After I decided to proceed with the procedure, Mike sent me a detailed email with all of pertinent information. This was very helpful and great as reference leading up to the day of my surgery. As for the procedure, I met with Dr. Brett Bolton the day of the surgery for an initial consolation and he was very transparent with everything involved. The procedure was painless and could not have gone better, which is not surprising considering Dr. Brett Bolton and his expert staff. Dr. Brett Bolton's 20 years of experience was evident and gave me great confidence throughout the process. Dr. Brett Bolton's team of technicians immediately went to work on removing the follicular units following the removal of the donor strip. I am being very sincere when I say the procedure was painless all I had to do was sit back and enjoy the movies that I chose. After the surgery concluded Dr. Brett Bolton personally went over my post op. Instructions including a brochure with all the instructions including the date of my suture removals and reiterated rest, rest and more rest.
