I began to notice my hair receding in my mid 20s. The recession continued through my 30s and I started to wear my hair combed forward in a "ceasar" style to try to hide the recession. I realized at ab ... I began to notice my hair receding in my mid 20s. The recession continued through my 30s and I started to wear my hair combed forward in a "ceasar" style to try to hide the recession. I realized at about 38 that the best thing to do was to cut all my hair very short. I decided at age 44 to explore hair transplant surgery. I shopped around online and found a doctor in Beverly Hills that had offered three things that I THOUGHT were important: 1. Best price for highest number of grafts=Cost effective 2. Yale trained surgeon=Qualified 3. Beverly Hills location=Must have a lot of experience, because based in LA. A year later I had a sparse result and a scar line that could be seen on the back of my head. The experience itself and the care that I received were fine. I paid $6000 and got more hair than I had at the start, but I did not look much different and I did not achieve a frontal hairline. I learned several things: 1. I never saw photos of the doctor's previous work=Big Mistake! 2. A Yale education, doesn't equal a lot of hair or an undetectable scar. 3. Best price doesn't always yield best results. I researched Dr Bolton for about 6 months, as I knew at that point that my first precedure was not going to yield the results that I wanted. I spoke to Josh and saw all of the pics on Dr Bolton's website, and I scheduled my procedure. Please note, that I had Dr Bolton shave the area, because he said it would be easier to work on the area. Also, please note that I do have some swelling in my face and under my eyes in the day 3 pic, which is normal. I lived 4 hours away, so I planed to stay locally instead of attempting to drive home after the procedure. That worked out great. I took my pain medicine as described, Got a good nights rest and drove home next day. I don't remember the time line, but the healing and hair regrowth progressed rather quickly . I continued to use a Hair Club system during this transition, but it wasn't for very long. I had planned for two, maybe three procedures, but this one transplant produced the look I wanted and didn't need the others. This was 19 years ago. Unless reminded I never think about that I had this done. My hair and how I groom it is totally natural. Luckily for me my hair had stopped falling out before I had this done, so it has stayed at the same density all this time. Another mention that happened just a few years ago: I was on a lengthy cruise where I spent a lot of time with my social group of long term friends. A wife of a friend was encouraging her husband to do something with his receding hair line. I volunteered that I had had that done. They have never known I had it done and were amazed. I had several of the wives inspecting my hair line for proof, which was fun. Lol
